Patient safety is our top priority. So we're always looking for ways to improve on that front. That's why three years ago we implemented our Silence is Golden program, a.k.a. Tone it Down. The program allows us to identify, improve upon, and strive to eliminate any unsafe driving whatsoever.
We are proud to announce our newest service offering, On Time Billing Services.
This program combines personalized support and software to teach organizations how best to manage their ambulance and medical transportation billing.
Robyn began her career at On Time on April 14th, 1997, as a customer service representative taking customer calls, answering questions, booking trips, and conducting insurance verifications.
Stuart Maslow grew up taking care of a sick family member, realized he had a knack for patient care, and is now Scheduling Manager and a full-time EMT at On Time as well as a full-time student earning his Bachelor's Degree.
Whenever we book a wheelchair transport trip involving an electronic wheelchair, we first determine the specific make and model of the chair.
Our lifts can accommodate chairs up to 32 inches total in width (including the outside of the tires). This is a standard size and does not vary. Sometimes electric wheelchairs are too wide to fit on a standard sized lift.

It’s never been more important to upgrade and optimize our 911 system for cell phones. Seventy percent of emergency calls now come in that way. We also need to be able to text, send pictures, and give dispatchers the ability to geo-locate cell phones like is available in many other states.
You can currently text 911 in some counties in NJ. But the system, developed in the 1980s, cannot track where exactly the calls or texts come from. It can only provide a range. The whole grid needs to be revamped for it to work more efficiently.

The answer isn't as straightforward as you might think. Rates vary from company to company, but unfortunately, sometimes what really matters is, who’s asking? If you’re someone who handles regular referrals to ambulance companies, especially among Medicare patients, you’ve probably found that medical transportation company reps trip over themselves to offer you and your patients impossibly great deals. But if something looks too good to be true --- it probably is.

Last month we wrote an article here on our blog explaining how ambulance companies commit Medicare fraud. It outlined the different schemes that some non-emergency companies pull---and what CMS is doing to try to stop them.
After it went live, we received a ton of feedback from medical professionals around the country. More than 28,000 visitors viewed the post --- and it clearly struck a chord. Many readers (especially EMS workers) mentioned that they had personally witnessed some of the schemes mentioned in the post.
Others pointed out a different but related issue --- that discharge personnel at hospitals and skilled nursing facilities that arrange transportation services for patients are often unknowingly contributing to this type of fraud. We thought it would be a good idea to write a follow-up post looking into some of these claims.
